Game 4 Overview

...a courageous battle

The Sparks fought bravely for the entire game and although we lost, I thought it was our best performance to date. We took an early lead and played great team defense, almost always limiting our opponents to one shot. They put on a hard press in the second half and we handle it very well and got some easy chances at baskets.

It was a tough game physically, especially for the other team. I called the other coach and she said the player who had the seizure is doing fine. That was a scary moment and all you could do was pray for her at the time.

Anyway, I thought we made great progress and I look forward to another great performance this week! And it sure was good to see Megan at the game! I told her we could have used her height.

 See pictures below!

Scoring/Rebounding included:
Whitney: 10 points and 9 rebounds
Maggie: 4 points and 2 rebounds
Tesa: 2 points and 4 rebounds
Rachel: 2 points and 2 rebounds
Aimee: 1 rebound
Erica: 1 rebound

I think we probably missed some rebounds because I think everyone got some. I thought Daphne, Mollie and Erin handled the ball really well especially when under pressure. We did not have very many turnovers. Rachel made some very good passes against the press especially some long passes when they ignored Whitner - a big mistake!

Thanks to everyone who helped out this past week especially at practice. As I said, this week I will be on a Men's retreat. I look forward to finding out how practice and the game went.

Our zone defense was excellent!

Another game face although Maggie and Aimee's dad isn't that interested.
